Dr. Ilona Baraniak
Dr. Ilona Baraniak works in vaccines regulatory submissions and strategic projects.
At Biopharma Excellence, Ilona provides regulatory and strategic input in biopharmaceutical development projects. Ilona is supporting clients in managing their proprietary research and delivers expertise in different regulatory submissions, which includes structuring risk assessments and drafting documentation such as: Investigator’s Brochures (IB), Investigational Medicinal Product Dossiers (IMPDs), Benefit-Risk-Assessments (B-R-As), and Common Technical Documents (CTDs). She gathered experience in project management in vaccine research throughout all clinical development stages. Ilona is an expert in several scientific disciplines, such as Virology, Vaccinology, Immunology, and Pharmacodynamics. She also has extensive knowledge in scientific & medical communications, including writing, editing and publishing scientific articles.
Ilona received her Ph.D. in Molecular Virology and Vaccinology at University College London (UCL). During her doctoral studies she was investigating the immunogenicity and correlates of protection following administration of antiviral vaccines and was a holder of a Marie-Skłodowska- Curie research fellowship. Alongside her Ph.D. studies she was part of “VacTrain”- the training network for the next generation vaccinologists. This research program provided her state-of-the-art multidisciplinary and intersectional training in vaccine development and regulatory affairs. Her Ph.D. was followed by a Post-Doc at the University College London and Duke University (North Carolina). She was awarded the “Global Fund Award” from the University College London to support her collaboration with the Human Vaccine Institute at Duke University in the United States. Ilona is an invited speaker at major international conferences.
